Create & approve your first template

The first template you’ll want is the COD confirmation. This walks through creating it in Meta WhatsApp Manager and hooking it up in OrderPing.

  1. Open WhatsApp Manager

Go to Meta Business SuiteWhatsApp ManagerMessage templates. Click Create template.

  2. Pick the Utility category

Utility is the right category for order confirmations. Don’t pick Marketing — it will get rejected for this use case and is more expensive per conversation.

  3. Name the template

Use lowercase with underscores, e.g. cod_order_confirmation. You’ll use this exact name in OrderPing.

  4. Pick a language

Templates are per-language. If you sell in multiple languages, submit one template per language with the same name.

  5. Write the body

Use {{1}}, {{2}}, etc. for variable placeholders. Keep it short and transactional. Example:

Hi {{1}}, your order {{2}} is ready to ship.
Please confirm within 24 hours: tap the button below.
  6. Add a URL button

Add one URL button labelled “Confirm order” (or similar). The base URL is https://orderping.kri-labs.com/confirm/ with a dynamic URL suffix — use {{1}} as the button variable. OrderPing appends the per-order token at send time.

  7. Provide example values

Meta requires realistic example values for every placeholder. Use real-looking data: Priya for {{1}}, #4521 for {{2}}.

  8. Submit for approval

Click Submit. Status goes to Pending. You’ll get an email when it’s approved — usually within minutes, occasionally up to 24 hours.

  9. Add the template to OrderPing

Once approved, open OrderPing → Lifecyclecod_confirmation, pick the template from the dropdown, and map variables to OrderPing fields.

If it gets rejectedRead the rejection reason in WhatsApp Manager, edit the template, and resubmit. Most rejections are one-line fixes: remove promotional words, add missing example values, simplify the copy.
